Blitz Coffee Shop & Cafe is one of those tucked-away spots on Dean Cross Road in Plymstock that feels like a cozy local hangout more than a typical chain. Its casual, no-frills atmosphere is built around friendly, familiar service — the kind where the owners remember your name and how you take your breakfast. This makes it a comfortable place for regulars who value a reliable, freshly cooked meal without fanfare.

The cafe’s menu focuses on hearty, classic English breakfasts and simple sandwiches, with options that cater well to families, including a kids’ menu anchored by familiar comfort foods like sausage and chips or fish fingers and beans. Portions tend to be generous, so if you’re stopping by for a morning meal, don’t expect to leave hungry.

Blitz’s appeal lies in its straightforward, well-prepared food rather than trendy flourishes. The kitchen prepares everything fresh to order, and the team is flexible about customizing dishes, which comes across as genuine care rather than a scripted service gesture. Prices here lean toward reasonable, especially compared to other local spots, which makes it particularly attractive for locals looking for value without compromising quality.

Visitors typically come during breakfast hours, but the cafe’s friendly vibe and quiet charm make it a comfortable place for a midday coffee too. There’s a sense that this is a place to linger briefly between appointments or to catch up with friends over a solid cup of coffee and a muffin. The interior is simple and clean, furnished in a way that encourages a relaxed visit without feeling too formal or rushed.

If you happen to be in Plymstock and want a break from busier cafes, Blitz offers a low-key, welcoming spot where local familiarity pairs with freshly cooked food and decent coffee. It’s well-suited for anyone who values a straightforward, steady place to grab breakfast or a light lunch, particularly families and locals who appreciate a generous portion and friendly faces.

Lovely little cafe run by a brother and sister duo. Just had a gorgeous breakfast. Food cooked freshly to order and they are very accommodating with the changes we make to the set menu. Nothing is too much true from Marie and Bert. We wouldn’t go anywhere else for you cooked breakfasts. Prices are very reasonable too. Most places charge a lot more for the amount of food you get. Highly recommend. We will definitely be back.

Found this hidden little gym near the broadway. Had a gorgeous breakfast, really well cooked, not greasy and a good / reasonable medium portion with extra beans given for not liking tomatoes. Really friendly and nice atmosphere, furnished nicely and clean. Defo coming back when in the area.

Really lovely cafe in Plymstock. Marie and her brother, the chef are so friendly and accommodating. They always remember your name, how you like things cooked etc, etc. It is tucked away a little bit, but once you've found it, you'll be back again and again. Also it's very reasonable compared to everywhere else in Plymstock x

Just popped in for a mocha as u get hot drinks with the Three app for £1 here. So much character in the cafe and the lady owner is an absolute gem. The warmest welcome and a great hot drink. The menu has classic English meals, all cooked fresh nothing reheated. A real hidden gem in Plymstock off Dean's cross road. Came back after an appt and had the medium breakfast as that's one of their most popular meals and it was epic. Really generous portion for way cheaper than most other cafes in the area and great quality ingredients cooked to perfection. Will be back soon. Thank you for making me feel so welcome
